ART meets MUSIC + event announcements
Hello everyone,
Some of you may know, I am a visual artist as well as a musician. Music has always been first, but lately art has actually kept be a bit busier. These phases come and go, and I welcome the duality of art and music in my creative life.
Recently, though, I’ve been combing my worlds. I’ve been allowing a pathway for my art to inspire my music, and my music inspire my art. Lately, when I improvise on my marimba, I let my mind think of colors and shapes. When I paint, I listen to music or sing as a part of the process. Then later I pick recordings and painting videos that fit well together. The result is marimba music over fast-motion painting videos, and it has left me wondering:
Why haven’t I been doing this forever?
I am overjoyed and satisfied by watching my music and art come together. It feels very right. I wanted to share it with you. If you’re on social media, you may have seen this all ready, but if not…. I hope you enjoy it as well.
I also wanted to share THREE events that I have coming up, that I’ll be playing music AND selling artwork. This is the first time I have done both in one night!
